Series Overview:

— ABOUT THE CLIENT
Bookwitty is a place to discover personally recommended books from all over the world through community-driven content like reviews, articles, and reading lists. Once a reader has found a book of their liking they can order through the website, and get it delivered straight to their doorstep with free shipping.

— CHALLENGE
The French version of the Bookwitty website was set to premiere at the Salon du Livre de Paris 2017. This launch was the perfect opportunity for the client to create a smart ripple effect and hook likely readers. My objective was to showcase Bookwitty's inclusive approach towards the industry and its mission to highlight authors from all corners of the globe through audiovisual content that we would project on the Bookwitty stand.

— CONTENT SOLUTION
Over the period of two months, I produced 13 interviews with authors from all walks of life. The idea was to delve deep into their modus operandi and expose the different experiences that helped lead them to where they are today. I worked on creating two versions of each video: a 10-minute format that we projected at Bookwitty's stand at the Salon du Livre de Paris and 3-minute capsules that we posted on Facebook as a way to generate buzz.

The most rewarding part of this project was the cross-continental production process that I put into place. I had to liaison with a plethora of freelancers in France, Lebanon, and Canada to shoot, edit and brand these interviews. We had just under two months to deliver the final product, which meant that all the different stakeholders had to work precisely together like a well-oiled machine. The final result is this tapestry of interviews showcasing "books of the world."

Lire le monde Episodes:

These 13 interviews feature authors, poets, artists, novelists, and cartoonists from all corners of the globe. I worked hard to be able to shoot the episodes in the interviewees' houses or offices, as a way to have them feel as comfortable as possible. Once the camera started recording all that was left to do was to have a natural conversation.

Bookwitty Stand at
the Salon du Livre de Paris:

Bookwitty's design team worked with top-notch interior architects to create an attractive stand. In its center, they placed two flat-screen TVs which we used to exhibit the videos. We paired each screen with two headphones, this way any of the 165k passersby could stop and get to know the authors, pleasantly.
